Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to live in Brazil full-time?
No. Full-time residence is not required. You must enter Brazil within 90 days of approval to complete registration. After that, maintaining your residency requires entering Brazil at least once every 24 months for a minimum of 15 days collectively.
How much investment is required?
Under RN 13/2017, the Company Investor Residency requires a minimum investment of R$500,000 (about $95,000 USD) in a single Brazilian company — existing or newly opened — supported by a three-year business plan demonstrating economic activity or job creation. In 2025, nearly half of approved investors capitalized close to the legal minimum.
Does this lead to citizenship?
Yes, but through standard naturalization. Brazil does not offer a direct investor citizenship program. However, permanent residents can apply for citizenship after meeting residency and language requirements, typically after four years. Permanent residency already provides most practical benefits, including the right to live, work, and access services in Brazil. Check out our blog for more information.</a>
